Every day at Finca Luna Nueva is a step in the direction of greater soil fertility, healthier food, and a replenished ecosystem. Focusing on regenerative agriculture, the resort is designed to optimize photosynthesis, draw excess carbon down from the atmosphere, create carbon-rich topsoil, and reverse climate change.
After a day of tasting the food grown on-site, or attending a guided farm tour, you will understand the importance of their work and mission. Finca Luna Nueva has worked with partners to purchase land along the Rio Chachagua to create a wildlife corridor to the Children’s Eternal Rainforest and plays an important part in the regeneration of the rainforest.

Itinerary
Welcome to Finca Luna Nueva Lodge. Today you will be able to explore the hotel grounds, enjoy a fresh farm-to-table dinner and have a relaxing night’s sleep in the rainforest.
As the sound of birds awakens you, an ample breakfast buffet will be waiting for you at the restaurant. At 9:00 a.m. the farm tour will start. Here you will learn how Finca Luna Nueva uses their resources to run a regenerative farm to table ecolodge.
After your tour, enjoy a delicious lunch and prepare for your second activity the Organic Chocolate Tour. The guide will share with you the history of Cacao while preparing the most delicious hot cocoa, but that’s not all, at the end of the tour you can consider yourself a chocolatier when you prepare the chocolate bars with your favorite toppings.
You will be picked up later in the day to take you to the Hot Springs to relax after a day filled with adventure. Dinner will be held at the hot springs.

Finca Luna Nueva is a rainforest lodge and educational center that offers guests a mix of peace, adventure and a little bit of luxury.
Accommodations
With a combination of individual rooms and family cabins, totaling 40 beds, accommodations can be made for both the traveler looking for an intimate getaway as well as housing for large groups and conferences. Enjoy private decks or wraparound porches, all with wonderful views of the farm or rainforest, when you step outside of your room.
Casa Luna
When you step outside of a spacious Casa Luna room, you can enjoy a second-floor wrap-around porch with hammocks and stunning views of the surrounding hills and mountains. Downstairs you will find an open-air lounge area, with comfortable couches and chairs plus a coffee and tea setup.
Family Bungalows
Family Bungalows are located near the swimming pool and solar-heated Jacuzzi, and overlook lovely fields. These spacious bungalows are ideal for families or groups traveling on a budget and offer tea and coffee setup is available every morning to enjoy while taking in the sights and sounds of the rainforest.
Individual Bungalows
Three private individual bungalows are available featuring an outdoor sitting area or an outdoor balcony overlooking the rainforest. There is a coffee and tea set up in all three bungalows. These bungalows are perfect for couples looking for a private and relaxing getaway.
Casa de Barro
Casa de Barro is an adobe “earth-bag”house made from the deep red clay found on Finca Luna Nueva's farm by the farm team with local participation. Casa de Barro features a lovely private setting, but it is conveniently located to Finca Luna Nueva's facilities.
Dome Suite
The Dome was handmade by master artisans to give you a unique experience of the rainforest. The bedroom opens to an arched connection to a separate domed bathroom, where the shower opens fully to the glories of the rainforest. Located just steps away from the pool and lounge, the Dome combines total “honeymoon” privacy with easy access to all Finca Luna Nueva's facilities.

Finca Luna Nueva is located in San Isidro Penas Blancas. It is a 2.5 hour drive from the Juan Santamaría International Airport. It is a 3 hours drive from the Daniel Oduber International Airport in Liberia Guanacaste. They are only 30 minutes from the local airport, El Tanque, in La Fortuna San Carlos.
Yes, Finca Luna Nueva can accommodate certain dietary restrictions. Please notify while making your reservations of any specific dietary needs.
Some of the greatest hot springs in the world are nearby. Finca Luna Nueva is happy to arrange a trip to one of the many hot springs that are located approximately 30 minutes away.
Rainy season is usually from mid-May until the end of December. However, they can have rain at any time all year round, and even during rainy season they will have periods of sunshine. It’s the rainforest!
On average, the temperatures are always high. Range between 75 F and 88F. On average, the warmest month is April and the coolest month is January.

Payments & Deposits
No initial deposit needed. Within 30 days full payment will be required. Additional person is $22.00 plus 13% taxes. 25% prepayment deadline will be determined based on availability. Reservations are not confirmed until Finca Luna Nueva acknowledges receipt of the written service request and/or credit card authorization form.

Check-Out
Check-out time is 12:00 noon and check-in time is 2:00 p.m. However, Finca Luna Nueva will make best efforts to accommodate guests prior to the official check-in or after the official check-out time when requested, and subject to availability.
Cancellation Policy

All reservations must contain name of the client, check-in date, check-out date, the number of nights, number of guests, and indicate the type of room.
- Cancellations within 29 to 15 days there is 50% charge of the total amount.
- Cancellations less than 15 days there is 100% charge of the total amount.
In case of no show, there is 100% charge of the total amount.
Travel Insurance
Finca Luna Nueva strongly recommends that guests buy travel insurance. Travel insurance will generally reimburse guests for last-minute cancellations due to personal emergencies or injuries.
Child Policy
Children from 1 to 5 years old sharing with parents are free of charge. Children between 6-11 years pay $10+tax per. Children older than 12 years are received as adults.
Pet Policy
Finca Luna Nueva does not allow pets. They will, of course, accommodate properly licensed service animals wearing a vest and leash at all times. In fact, one of the owners of the farm has a Service Dog on-premises.
