The Bodhi Family Surf Camp is designed for families who have different needs than groups of adults. This option has the flexibility to be just what you and your family need. Some opt for low-key, quality family bonding: playing board games, going on walks together or doing an adventure tour like sea kayaking or ziplining. Others choose pure relaxation: chilling in the pool, reading in the hammocks or having some fun beach days. Regardless of what your family opts to do, there are many options, and the Bodhi Surf + Yoga team will be here to help you—providing knowledge and assistance on booking tours, navigating the community, and answering any questions you may have!

Get your hearts pumping on the water with five surf lessons. Let your minds unwind on land with an optional family yoga session. Bring your family of four or more and they will close off the entire lodge just for you. If you’re a family with less than four, find comfort in knowing that no more than 10 guests will be hosted at a time. That’s how Bodhi strikes the perfect balance between creating a mini-community within each retreat and fostering more personalized experiences for each guest.

Activities Aplenty

On top of your surfing and yoga sessions, you will also have the opportunity to take a guided walking tour to learn about the community, enjoy a relaxing massage on the yoga platform, visit a local waterfall and take in the lush jungle scenery of Costa Rica.

Share the Good

Bodhi Surf + Yoga encourages guests to “give back” by donating to their Travelers' Philanthropy Program. In return, Bodhi donates $20 on behalf of each full-paying guest. This donation supports local non-profit organizations and offers guests the opportunity to match or surpass this through an additional donation.

Community Engagement

The true Bodhi Surf + Yoga experience is about being immersed into the local community, even if it’s just for a week. One way to do this is with a Community Walking Tour, a fun jaunt around Bahia Ballena with trained guides who discuss the local history, culture, economy and environment.

Accommodations

The Bodhi Surf & Yoga lodge is comprised of four lodging options, a common area and a yoga studio.

BUNGALOW GRATITUD

The largest of the four options, Gratitud can accommodate up to four adults and one child. The bungalow features a private bathroom and a well-equipped kitchenette.

BUNGALOW ESPIRITU

This bungalow is the perfect choice for a couple and features one queen bed, a kitchenette, a large private bathroom and a spacious balcony.

ROOM ARMONIA

This private hotel-style room is located on the second level of a two-story structure. The room features a full-sized bed that can accommodate two guests, a private bathroom and shared kitchen access on the ground floor.

ROOM AMISTAD

This private hotel-style room is located on the second level of a two-story structure. The room features two single beds that can accommodate either one or two guests, a private bathroom and shared kitchen access on the ground floor.

COMMON AREA ALEGRIA

This social area comprises a kitchen and dining area and is located on the ground level of the two-story structure with Room Armonia and Room Amistad on the top level.

RANCHO SERENIDAD

This two-story open-air structure is home to the Bodhi Shambala Yoga Studio on the top level and a relaxing meditation/reading area on the ground level called Serenidad.
