About The Cliffs at Princeville

Twenty-two acres. One hundred feet straight up from the reef. The Cliffs at Princeville sits atop a volcanic bluff on Kauai's North Shore, where the only thing between you and the horizon is open Pacific. This isn't a hotel. It's a condo resort with one- and two-bedroom units that come with full kitchens, washers and dryers, and enough space to settle in for a week. Adirondack chairs face the water for whale watching between December and April. A lagoon pool with waterfalls anchors the grounds, flanked by tennis and pickleball courts, BBQ stations and a putting green. Daily programming runs from sunrise yoga on the bluff to evening ukulele lessons and weekly farmers markets. Hanalei's surf shops and food trucks are ten minutes north. Golf courses are close enough that you can play early and still make it back for lunch. The concierge books everything else: boat charters to the Na Pali Coast, access to hidden beaches like Hideaways and Queen's Bath, as well as helicopter tours over Waimea Canyon. It's a base camp setup for people who want to explore the island without sacrificing comfort when they come back.

Worth Traveling For

What We Love

Golf on Kauai isn't flat. Courses here climb ridges, drop into ravines, wrap around waterfalls. The North Shore tracks stay green year-round, and ocean winds mean you're constantly recalculating distance. Princeville puts you close to the island's best layouts, most under 30 minutes away. Akamu Wellness runs the on-site spa and fitness programming with a focus on outdoor experiences. Massages happen in oceanfront cabanas with waves crashing below. Yoga takes place on the bluff at sunrise or in the studio overlooking the gardens. Farm tours connect guests with regenerative agriculture at local ranches, and an organic market stocks Hawaiian-made products and fresh produce. The resort also offers guided access to North Shore beaches that require local knowledge—Anini for snorkeling, Tunnels for diving, Ke'e for sunset hikes along the Kalalau Trail.

Accommodations

One-bedrooms sleep four, while one-bedroom-plus-loft configurations handle six. Every unit includes a full kitchen with granite counters and stainless steel appliances, two bathrooms, a washer and dryer, and at least two lanais. Some oceanfront units capture both sunrise and sunset from different balconies. Beach gear lives in the unit: chairs, umbrellas, boogie boards and coolers. The accommodations are designed for people who cook breakfast, pack lunches, do laundry midweek and use the condo as an actual home base rather than a place to just sleep. Garden-view units look into tropical landscaping. Oceanfront units look straight out over the Pacific with nothing blocking the view.
