Fairmont Mayakoba
Worth Traveling For
What We Love
Few spas put you in the treetops, but Fairmont Spa Mayakoba builds its treatment rooms right into the canopy. The mangrove forest spreads out below while treatments draw on the textures, colors and scents of Mayan tradition. Between them, wander the gardens or warm up in the heated spas and Swiss showers. On the rooftop, a vitality pool and a sea-mineral soaking pool ease tired muscles. For something deeper, the temazcal runs a traditional sweat ceremony with steam, heat and sacred herbs. The fitness center rounds it out, with a full range of cardio and strength gear and trainers on hand.
Tee Off in Style
Not many courses drop cenotes into the middle of the fairway, but El Camaleón does. Greg Norman ran his 18 holes through mangroves and lagoons out to the Caribbean shore. Those limestone sinkholes turn into natural hazards you have to play around. As the first course in Mexico ever to host a PGA Tour event, it carries real weight.

Accommodations
The rooms at Fairmont Mayakoba scatter along the mangrove canals and the beach. Recently reimagined, they carry nature-inspired décor and pull the outdoors in. Big windows bring the light, and a private terrace or balcony comes with most. Some open onto a private infinity pool, and a butler handles the rest.
