Canouan Estate Resort & Villas

Wellness
What We Love
Just a short flight from Barbados and other neighboring islands but worlds away from the hustle and bustle of everyday life lies Canouan Estate, a luxury all-villa retreat on the off-the-radar Caribbean island of Canouan. The word Canouan (pronounced can-o-wan) means “island of tortoises” in Carib and, sure enough, there are hundreds of them roaming free over the island’s terrain. Life may be slow-paced with the most difficult decision to make is how to spend your day. Rest assured you won't be bored. Canouan Estate boasts tennis courts, a fitness center and a championship golf course. And of course an infinity pool with a 3-tier tanning deck. Venture out on the Caribbean for boating, snorkeling, kayaking, paddleboarding and diving adventures. Head inland and hike to Mount Royal, the highest point on the island and enjoy the most spectacular scenery and views of the Grenadine islands. Golf enthusiasts will enjoy the resort’s challenging 18-hole golf course, set on 150 undulating acres of dramatic hills and seashore, with breathtaking sea views from every angle. For a truly exclusive and out-of-the-way getaway, make your way to the island of Canouan.
Why not indulge in a luxurious spa treatment located on the estate at the Mandarin Oriental, a short five-minute golf cart ride away? The highly trained team of therapists offers an array of treatments including facials, massages and wraps, all of which will exceed expectations. With treatment suites nestled in the lush hillside and overlooking the ocean, the well-appointed spa is excellent for loosening knots and emptying the mind. In a picturesque, utterly peaceful location, the spa is a retreat for body and soul.
Activities
The island of Canouan may only measure five square miles but is made up of almost 2,000 lush acres and is home to a large coral reef which is ideal for scuba diving. Guests can use the complimentary paddleboards, Hobie-cats, kayaks and snorkel gear to explore the crystal clear waters. With 32 islands and cays, the archipelago is also a boaters paradise. Or head inland and take a guided hike to the highest point on the island and learn all about the local flora and fauna. On those days you want to be "lazy" and stay on the estate, there's a spacious state-of-the-art fitness center, a tennis center with 3 courts and a 72 par 18-hole championship golf course. Do as little or as much as you like.
Culinary Highlights
There are plenty of dining choices with four restaurants and bars ranging from casual fare to fine dining. Located beachside, Shell Beach Bar and Grill serves lunch with a distinctly Caribbean flair. Open-air dining Bellini’s Bar and Bistro offers guests al fresco breakfast made to order. La Piazza Restaurant is a more formal Italian dining experience for dinner. And for a relaxed evening of divine Mediterranean cuisine under a canopy of stars, guests can opt for L’Ance Guyac. The resort's executive chef is more than happy to design custom menus based on your preferences. In-villa stocking of food and beverage items is also available.
