Here are just some of the enticing wellness options that make New England a must-visit in any season.

Connecticut

An affluent and charming enclave in Connecticut, Greenwich serves as an inviting destination to replenish your mind, body and soul. At Delamar Greenwich Harbor, you’ll find luxury and elegance go hand in hand.

The hotel features 82 rooms and suites, most with beautiful views of Greenwich Harbor. Complete with European-inspired décor and deep soaking tubs, the rooms provide a relaxing respite in which to unwind.

The full-service spa, a soothing sanctuary on the second floor, has three treatment rooms, two of which can accommodate couples. Relying on treatments from big name skincare, the menu offers a variety of skin-enhancing facials, tension-easing massages and high-tech treatments.

For a taste of the Mediterranean, you need travel no further than L’Escale, the hotel’s iconic restaurant. L’Escale conjures up the idyllic ambiance of Provence with stone terra-cotta tiles adorning the floors and a wood-burning fireplace. The ambitious menu makes every meal at this New England wellness retreat memorable.

Delamar Southport

The enchanting coastal hamlet of Southport offers an array of outdoor recreation and historical attractions. Infused with classic New England hospitality, Delamar Southport, just 90 minutes from midtown Manhattan, makes for an appealing getaway.

Each of the hotel’s 45 luxurious guest rooms and suites provide an inviting haven to indulge in rest and renewal.

The hotel’s Spa Suite, too, offers a chance for you to relax and rejuvenate. It features a couples treatment room, a steam shower and a living room with a fireplace.

Incorporating European-based treatments, the menu features soothing therapies designed to relieve tension and inspire a much-needed reset.

Because no stay is complete without a memorable culinary experience, you won’t want to miss dining at Artisan. The restaurant resembles a cozy and comforting countryside living room.

You can also dine al fresco in the garden. Promoting sustainable agriculture, the restaurant’s New England-inspired American cuisine emphasizes a farm-to-table approach.

Delamar West Hartford

Located in Connecticut’s Capital Region, Delamar West Hartford serves as the ultimate urban oasis. Its 114 rooms and suites are a luxe blend of traditional elegance and contemporary style. This luxury boutique hotel is ideal for a relaxing staycation or getaway.

To truly decompress, a visit to the spa is the perfect way to incorporate some self-care. The European-inspired spa features custom treatments from Biologique Recherche, a popular French skincare brand and Valmont, a Swiss skincare line.

The full-service menu offers facials, massages, body treatments, manicures and pedicures and more.

Dining is an occasion. The restaurant features a two-story ceiling, light wide-plank pine flooring and an impressive fig mural along the back wall of the main dining room.

Handpainted by Stockholm artist Jonas Wickman, it sets the scene for a noteworthy dining experience. With a selection of delicious appetizers, all-day bites, entrees, sides and desserts, the menu is oh-so tempting with an equally enticing selection of wines and cocktails.

Maine

The Breakwater Inn & Spa

Beloved for its rocky Atlantic coastline, lobster rolls and wild blueberries, Maine is home to The Breakwater Inn & Spa, one of Kennebunkport’s oldest inns. This tranquil getaway provides a host of modern comforts that make it ideal for exploring coastal Maine.

A charming retreat that blends the luxury of a boutique hotel with the history of a destination that has stood the test of time, the property features a historic Inn Building, built in the 1800s, with 20 guest rooms. Riverside rooms come with balconies overlooking the water.

The Spa Building, with its more contemporary architecture, also features accommodations with views of the Kennebunk River. Unlike in the Inn Building, all rooms are accessible by elevator.

For more spacious accommodations, consider a cottage, which features a private kitchen and a large bathroom with a Jacuzzi tub, or the Spa King Suite, which comes with a raised seating area and balcony with views of the water.

While there’s much to do in and around Kennebunkport, you’ll also want to carve out time to visit the spa. This inviting sanctuary, with four treatment rooms, offers an array of services to help you unwind from the day’s adventures.

Arrive early or stay a while longer to relax in the lounge while sipping fusion waters and teas.

Here, you’ll dine on fresh, healthy seafood that is locally sourced. There is even a special lawn menu, which can be enjoyed from the comfort of an Adirondack chair. It’s the perfect spot to unplug and enjoy a captivating sunset.

Massachusetts

Mirbeau Inn & Spa Plymouth

Intended to be a true getaway, Mirbeau Plymouth is one of three Mirbeau properties, each located in a charming destination and inspired by the paintings of French Impressionist Claude Monet.

The spa features 20 treatment rooms, each with a fireplace and a private sound system. In addition to seasonally inspired treatments, the spa also offers a variety of facials, massages, Kurs and more. The menu relies on products from Jane Iredale and Elemis.

An oasis of calm, this restful retreat serves as an ideal romantic escape. The Bistro & Wine Bar, serving breakfast, lunch and dinner, features a French bistro-inspired menu with New England flavors. The outdoor patio is the perfect place to enjoy an elevated dining experience.

Chatham Bars Inn

A visit to Cape Cod wouldn’t be complete without a stay at Chatham Bars Inn, the quintessential Cape Cod escape.

Located in historic downtown Chatham, the resort is within walking distance of tree-lined Main Street, which beckons with boutiques, galleries and old-fashioned candy and ice cream shops. Sun and sand are highlights of this popular destination.

Built in 1914, the Main Inn offers deluxe and ocean view guest rooms, suites as well as the premier Presidential Suite.

The resort also features classic Cape Cod shingle-style cottages along the property’s private beach with stunning views.

For a wellness-focused retreat, the Spa Suites are located above the spa and come with oversized hydrotherapy tubs, saunas, steam showers and fireplaces.

The 12 adults-only suites are designed to encourage the ultimate in relaxation. There, you can experience a treatment in the comfort of your own room.

Regardless of where you stay, you’ll want to schedule a treatment at The Spa at Chatham Bars Inn. With oversized treatment rooms complete with a private shower and a hydrotherapy tub, the spa offers a wide-ranging menu. There are even a number of sea-inspired treatments.

In the warmer months, you can experience a treatment in one of the private outdoor cabanas in the Zen Garden.

Eating healthily is easy thanks to an upscale dining experience, a coastal-inspired restaurant and a tavern serving regional food. The resort also features an eight-acre farm that harvests seasonal greens and vegetables, all of which drive the culinary offerings.

Canyon Ranch Lenox

Known for its innovative spa programming, Canyon Ranch is a recognized leader in healthy living. It’s also a favorite wellness retreat in New England.

With additional locations in Tucson and Woodside, the Lenox outpost is one of the first true destination spas, as it is intended to help spa-goers create a positive lifestyle change..

Whether it’s enjoying a guided outdoor excursion, challenging yourself to a high-impact workout, practicing mindfulness with guided meditation or adding in some recovery with a soothing massage, you’ll discover no shortage of experiences to enhance your overall well-being.

Set in the stunning Berkshires, the Inn features Deluxe Rooms, Executive Rooms and Luxury Suites. Amenities include luxury Italian linens, a pillow menu, a sound machine, CubieBlue docking stations and more.

At the heart of the property is the Bellefontaine Mansion, which was built in 1897. Restored to its former glory, the mansion now incorporates the Integrative Health Center, a state-of-the-art spa and new guest accommodations.

The expansive spa complex is linked to the mansion and the inn by climate-controlled, glass-enclosed walkways. This allows guests to enjoy access to the facilities year-round.

The award-winning spa cuisine puts healthy eating first with input from top nutritionists. The chefs rely on local and regional organic or pesticide-free fruits and vegetables whenever possible to create nourishing cuisine that is as delicious as it is good for you.

With all meals included, dining becomes a key part of your wellness journey.

Miraval Berkshires

Committed to the idea that everyone can achieve a life in balance, Miraval Berkshires in Lenox, is situated on the former historic Cranwell Estate and includes Wyndhurst Manor.

This New England wellness retreat features historic cottages, which were renovated in 2020 but hail from Wyndhurst Manor’s time as a boy’s prep school as well as newly built modern cottages with cozy common areas.

Designed by renowned spa designer Clodagh, the rooms and suites feature various wellness-themed amenities. These include Miraval’s signature cloud-like bedding, in-room meditation channels, a Tibetan singing bowl and meditation cushion and filtered water in the fridge.

If you’re a fan of baths, be sure to request a suite. Most guest rooms feature large walk-in showers instead.

With a focus on mindfulness, the property discourages digital devices outside of guest rooms. As a result, be prepared to unplug and disconnect.

Fortunately, there are much better distractions to be had, such as the innovative programming for which Miraval is known.

From guided hikes in the beautiful Berkshires and the extraordinary Equine Experience to Vinyasa Yoga and Floating Meditation, there are endless possibilities, including a challenge course and a host of Farm and Garden activities.

No visit would be complete without a soothing massage or a skin-enhancing facial at the Life in Balance Spa, which features 28 treatment rooms.
