CIVANA Wellness Resort & Spa: My Solo Wellness Escape Experience

From time to time, we all need a little break from the chaos of life. The demands and responsibilities of everyday life can catch up with us, causing us to crave an escape. My escape came in the form of CIVANA Wellness Resort & Spa.

Between career responsibilities and having two young kids at home, finding some “me-time” is nearly impossible. But deep down, the wellness coach inside me knows the importance of finding an escape for some much-needed self-care.

Motivated to invest in my own wellness, I decided it was time to book a wellness getaway. Armed with a list of essential wellness offerings, I explored a variety of resorts.

My “must-have” list included a full-service spa, a variety of fitness activities, opportunities for meditation, and healthy nutrition options. And of course, I wanted a destination with exquisite scenery.

That’s when I discovered CIVANA Wellness Resort & Spa. 

What to Expect at the CIVANA Wellness Resort & Spa

CIVANA Resort is an incredibly beautiful wellness destination nestled in Scottsdale, Arizona’s Sonoran Desert. The resort offers an array of services with the goal to help you relax, restore, move, and savor during your experience.

From nature-inspired rooms to exquisite mountain scenery, CIVANA Resort is a great escape from urban life. And with a focus on the healing power of water, the CIVANA Spa significantly extends your opportunities for wellness.

These amenities along with a commitment to healthy nutrition are the main reasons CIVANA Wellness Resort & Spa was exactly what I needed. The following provides an overview of many of CIVANA Resort’s amazing offerings.

CIVANA Spa—A Full-Service Spa Experience

The CIVANA Spa is an incredible experience in relaxation, restoration, and healing. And for me, these were the wellness activities I was looking forward to with great anticipation.

With 23 treatment rooms, the CIVANA Spa offers a variety of services including specialty massage, body treatments, and aquatherapies. Most notable is its hydrotherapy thermal circuit. Hot and cold pools, cool waterfall showers, and a state-of-the-art sanarium are also included.

With over 22,000 square feet of space, it’s clear the CIVANA Spa is committed to spreading wellness. 

Exquisite Dining Focused on Health and Nutrition

I have always enjoyed wellness destinations that offer active culinary experiences as part of their offerings. CIVANA Resort’s focus on conscious cuisine was exactly what I was seeking.

Nourishing and innovative, CIVANA’s unique menu catered to my needs for healthy and flavorful offerings. Chef Justin Macy prepares colorful, veggie-forward creations that include non-GMO, farm-to-table ingredients. His culinary delights are a key attraction at CIVANA’s restaurant, Terras. However, my personal favorite dining experience was Café Meto.

Their casual indoor and outdoor seating and focus on plant-based whole foods and smoothies appealed to me. And even though I am not vegan, I chose a vegan diet while at CIVANA Resort. Not only did I enjoy every meal, I was amazed at how delicious and healthy the vegan desserts were. 

Wellness Activities Perfect for Rejuvenation

Having been so busy over the last several months, I couldn’t wait to get back into some neglected wellness practices. In this regard, CIVANA Resort did not disappoint.

First of all, the wellness center has over 10 wellness experts who are passionate about health and wellbeing. Likewise, CIVANA Resort has over 70 weekly wellness programs from which to choose.

While several are related to physical fitness (see below), many are directed at personal growth and spiritual wellness. For example, some programs include sound bathing and various types of meditation.

Others include nutrition and meal preparation instruction. And still others involve life coaching and guided relaxation exercises. In addition to CIVANA Spa, the wellness programs at CIVANA Resort are quite impressive. 

Physical Fitness Opportunities Abound

Among the dozens of wellness programs that CIVANA Resort offers, many focus on physical health. As many of us know, keeping up with a fitness routine can be difficult when life gets hectic.

However, a wellness vacation offers a great opportunity to jumpstart your physical fitness and get back on track. With this in mind, CIVANA Resort offers a number of fitness classes.

These offerings include various types of yoga, high-intensity interval training (HIIT), and even indoor spin classes. In fact, you can choose vinyasa and traditional yoga classes, or you can try wall yoga or aerial yoga.

Or you might even decide to swim laps in CIVANA Spa’s 25-meter saltwater pool. Without question, CIVANA’s ability to meet my fitness needs exceeded my expectations. 

Unexpectedly Stunning Scenery

For me, the best wellness escape is one that allows me to experience a completely new environment. And at the same time, I also want to indulge myself in nature while enjoying its inherent beauty. In both instances, CIVANA Resort passed with flying colors.

For one, CIVANA is situated on 20 acres near Scottsdale, Arizona, which offers ample space to explore the wilderness. From the Saguaro cacti to the beautiful desert flowers, the resort boasts a unique and pleasant setting.

Likewise, stunning views of the adjacent mountains are abundant from the CIVANA Spa and guest rooms. And guided hikes and bike rides further allow you to immerse yourself in the area’s natural beauty. All of this further contributed to CIVANA’s ability to restore and rejuvenate during my vacation.

CIVANA Wellness Resort & Spa – Just What I Needed!

Upon my return from my wellness escape, it was clear I had made a great decision. The experience I had at CIVANA Wellness Resort & Spa was precisely the break I needed. I returned feeling healthy, fit, and completely rejuvenated despite only taking a few days for my getaway.

The wellness programs and the CIVANA Spa allowed me to relax and refocus and the fitness classes and excursions in nature made me feel more physically well.

As a result, I am more conscious of the food I eat, the activities I choose, and the stress I experience. For any woman on-the-go, I would strongly encourage CIVANA as a quick “recharge” escape. 

Of course, one doesn’t have to be overwhelmed to choose a wellness vacation at CIVANA Wellness Resort & Spa. CIVANA Spa is recognized as a world class destination and hosts a myriad of people each year.

CIVANA Resort is the perfect place for a “girls’ getaway” for friends who want to enjoy the destination’s indulgences. For me, I am already thinking about my next visit to CIVANA. And this time, I am planning to take a few friends along to enhance my wellness experience even more!
