Snapshot
- To sail Croatia is to travel the Adriatic coast by yacht, hopping between islands and medieval harbors at whatever pace the wind and sea allow.
- Croatia native Tajči Cameron co-hosts small-group yacht voyages each August, with yoga on deck in the mornings and long, music-filled dinners after dark.
- Vis spent decades as a military zone closed to foreign visitors, so its coastline still feels wild, from the Blue Cave to Stiniva Beach, a cove reachable only by boat or a steep hike.
- For nature and solitude, Mljet National Park offers saltwater lakes and a monastery on a lake islet, and Lastovo’s dark skies make it one of Europe’s best stargazing spots.
- History lovers gravitate to Korčula’s walled old town and its Grk white wine, as well as Trogir, a UNESCO-listed medieval enclave often passed over for Split or Dubrovnik.
- Hvar mixes beach clubs and lively nightlife with lavender fields and hillside vineyards.
A unique magic unfolds when you sail Croatia’s breathtaking coastline. The gentle sway of the boat, the scent of salt in the air, and the deep blues, turquoise and emerald hues of the Adriatic meeting the rugged shoreline.
In fact, this is where time slows. Here, life reveals itself in its purest, most breathtaking form. And it’s where we reconnect with ourselves and remember how we want to live.
I grew up with this beauty woven into my soul. But it wasn’t until later, after traveling the world, standing on its greatest stages and living at full speed, that I truly understood the power of pausing and letting the Adriatic carry me through Croatia’s island paradise.

A Dream Set Sail in Croatia
In 2018, in a cozy café in the Austrian Alps, I shared my dream of creating an intimate Croatia sailing experience with a dear friend. And that’s when it all began. A vision took root in my mind where guests could indulge in delectable cuisine, soulful music, heartfelt laughter and genuine connections—all while feeling rejuvenated and inspired.
Long, joy-filled dinners. Music spilling into the night. Daily swims in the crystal-clear Adriatic. Mornings with breathtaking sunrises. Evenings painted in the richest hues of sunset. Each day would begin with yoga on deck as we sailed Croatia’s waters, stretching body and mind. A ritual of deep nourishment—an invitation to slow down and be present.
Fast forward six months, and my dream became reality, setting sail on our first journey aboard MV Paradis. Since then, I’ve continued to co-host voyages that capture that same spirit
Let the Sea Guide You
That first voyage taught me what it really means to sail Croatia. The charming historic towns are lovely, but the real joy comes from surrendering to the rhythm of the sea and trusting it to take you exactly where you need to be
Growing up in Croatia, I know all the hidden gems. Quiet, pristine bays where the water shimmers like glass. Seaside taverns tucked away, where the owner insists you try his grandmother’s recipe. And those rare, unplanned moments of soulful connection and deep awe—the kind that stays with you forever.

Art of Letting Go
Croatians have a gift for spontaneity—turning an ordinary meal into a celebration, creating moments out of nothing. One of my captains once told me, “Don’t be too attached to your itinerary. The wind and the sea are the first to decide our course.”
It was that moment when I was able to let go of expectations. In that surrender, what transpired was the most transformative journey I could have ever imagined.
The best way to sail Croatia’s coastline is without rigid plans. Let the day unravel. Whether that means an impromptu feast, a detour to a secret cove or an unexpected encounter that becomes part of your story.
A Taste of Croatia
But to thoroughly know a place, you must taste it. Croatian cuisine is rich in history, shaped by land and sea. The best meals aren’t on a menu. They’re the ones recommended by a chef who tells you, “This is what I’d eat today.”
Fresh seafood, hand-pressed olive oil, truffles unearthed from Istrian forests—every dish is a story waiting to be savored. And as you eat, there will be music, because music is as essential as air in Croatia. It’s woven into the fabric of everyday life, filling the streets, the cafés—and the decks of yachts.
There’s something unforgettable about sailing beneath a starlit Croatian sky, a guitar strumming softly and voices blending in a song that needs no translation.

An Invitation to Experience Croatia’s Wonder
Each August, I have the privilege of sharing Croatia with a small group of guests who quickly become like family. Aboard our elegant yachts, we embrace a slower, more immersive way of travel—savoring fresh food, movement, music and meaningful connection as the endless blue of the Adriatic stretches before us.
Above all, there’s an indescribable pleasure in the rhythm of the waves and the warmth of the sun. Beauty on this scale stirs a deep sense of connection in everyone aboard. Having spent most of my life in this wonder, I can say with certainty that there’s no better way to experience Croatia.
Seven Must-Visit Locations When You Sail Croatia

Sailing along Croatia’s stunning coastline offers a mix of history, nature and hidden gems. From secluded beaches to vibrant island towns, these are my seven must-visit destinations.
Vis Island — A Hidden Gem of the Adriatic
Once a military secret, Vis remains one of the most untouched islands in Croatia. Its rugged coastline, secluded beaches and the famous Blue Cave make it an unmissable destination for those craving tranquility and raw natural beauty.
Hvar — Sun-Soaked Luxury & Lavender Fields
Known for its vibrant nightlife and luxurious beach clubs, Hvar also offers breathtaking lavender fields, historic architecture and hidden vineyards producing some of Croatia’s finest wines.
Korčula — Marco Polo’s Legendary Hometown
Rich in medieval charm, Korčula is often called a “mini Dubrovnik.” Its walled old town, rich history and exceptional white wine (Grk) make it a highlight for culture lovers.
Mljet — Croatia’s Greenest Island
Mljet National Park is a nature lover’s paradise. Swim in saltwater lakes, kayak to a monastery on an island within a lake and enjoy the peace of this lush, unspoiled retreat.
Stiniva Beach — A Secluded Paradise
This stunning cove on Vis Island is accessible only by boat or a steep hike, making it one of the most exclusive and breathtaking beaches in Croatia.
Trogir — A UNESCO Jewel on the Adriatic
Step back in time in this perfectly preserved medieval town, often overlooked in favor of Split or Dubrovnik. Wander through narrow alleyways and soak in the history of this stunning coastal gem.
Lastovo — A Stargazer’s Dream
With almost no light pollution, Lastovo offers some of the best stargazing in Europe. Its untamed landscapes, fresh seafood and slow pace make it a haven for those who want to escape.
Why I Sail Croatia
There is so much to see along the coast, yet the true magic of sailing Croatia comes in the moments of stillness. Picture the sun turning the water gold or the hush of a secluded cove at night. Those moments remind me that abundance is something we feel when we’re fully present, with nothing to buy or chase.
