Other foods that balance pitta are ghee, milk and grains.&nbsp;<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Seasonal fresh fruits and veggies are fantastic too. Exercise<\/h2>\n\n\n\n<p>Pittas should avoid exercising in the sun or participating in anything overly competitive because competition increases emotional heat, stress and intensity.&nbsp;<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Brisk evening walks, early morning bike rides or jogs are fantastic. Digestion<\/h2>\n\n\n\n<p>Our lucky pittas friends are generally blessed with good digestion and a zooming metabolism. Their main problem is if they don\u2019t eat, they will get cranky until someone feeds them.&nbsp;<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Any indigestion pittas may have will tend to be heartburn, acid reflux, or loose poops. Spicy foods and \u201cred\u201d foods such as tomatoes, red peppers, red meat and red wine will contribute to internal heat and are not part of the Ayurveda summer diet.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Pittas should stay sweet and cool by eating plenty of veggies, sweet fruits, ghee and grains. Tip: ghee cools heat in the digestive tract while maintaining a strong digestive fire.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<hr class=\"wp-block-separator has-alpha-channel-opacity\"\/>\n\n\n\n<h2 class=\"wp-block-heading\" id=\"h-3-schedule\">3. Schedule<\/h2>\n\n\n\n<p>Ever get a \u201csecond wind\u201d at night with a sudden urge to clean the house from top to bottom? Or maybe you come up with a brilliant idea that can\u2019t wait until morning?&nbsp;<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Welcome to pitta time (this goes for everyone, it\u2019s nature\u2019s law). That\u2019s because pitta energy has just moved in, increasing our agni (digestive fire), prepping us to eat.&nbsp;<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>The sun is strongest at noon, and so is our agni (fires are aligned, like increases like!), so lunch should be the biggest meal of the day. Pitta time is also an excellent time for strategic thinking, organizing, and any brainy activity because our mind is the sharpest at this time.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<h4 class=\"wp-block-heading\" id=\"h-10pm-2am-nbsp\"><em>10pm-2am<\/em>&nbsp;<\/h4>\n\n\n\n<p>Once 10 pm rolls around, pitta kicks back in. This is bedtime. Pitta\u2019s job is to process all food, emotions, thoughts, ideas and stresses, ridding what we no longer need while we sleep.&nbsp;<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>If we stay awake, we will relive all the crud we were supposed to process! No bueno.
