Christmas. With each breath, that is the scent I inhaled as the massage therapist kneaded my tight muscles with the forest-based essential oils. I was in the midst of the Evergreen Massage at The Spa at Four Seasons Hotel Seattle\u2014and I was in heaven.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Years ago, I was in Seattle on assignment and had a chance to visit the Four Seasons property for lunch and a spa treatment.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

The moment I laid eyes on the property’s stunning location overlooking Elliott Bay, I promised myself that one day I’d return as a hotel guest. And this spring, I decided it was time to make this spa vacation dream a reality.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Six Reasons to Spa at Four Seasons Seattle<\/h2>\n\n\n\n

The next time you’re looking to plan a spa getaway, here are six reasons why I think this Pacific Northwest property should be at the top of your list.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

1. Treatments Galore<\/h2>\n\n\n\n

In addition to a variety of traditional facials, massages and body treatments, the spa also offers a menu of signature treatments.\u00a0For example, to pay homage to the pine forests surrounding the city, there is the 50-minute Evergreen Massage that I experienced.\u00a0<\/p>\n\n\n\n

According to the spa, the treatment uses a blend of four essential oils featuring Copahu, Rosewood, Juniper, and Cedarwood extracted from resins and berries. The combination is meant to rebalance and reinvigorate your body. <\/p>\n\n\n\n

I also appreciated that my therapist tailored the pressure of the massage to my preference (I prefer moderate to deep).\u00a0<\/p>\n\n\n\n

During my visit, I was in desperate need of a pedicure but opted for the express option due to dinner plans that evening.\u00a0<\/p>\n\n\n\n

However, if you have time, I recommend you check out the spa’s signature espresso manicures and pedicures. These include scrubs with ground coffee beans\u2014and an espresso drink for you to enjoy.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

2. Products You’ll Want to Purchase<\/h2>\n\n\n\n

I adore a spa boutique that actually offers products I can use during a hotel visit. The Spa at Four Seasons Hotel Seattle did a fabulous job in this area.\u00a0<\/p>\n\n\n\n

The property’s rooms are known for their deep soaking tubs. Given I am a sucker for a soak in a tub, I was in the market for a product that I could use to create an indulgent bath experience.\u00a0<\/p>\n\n\n\n

I found two strong options: a CBD salt soak by Vital Body Therapeutics and various bath balms by Musee. I opted for the Dreamweaver bath balm and couldn’t have been more pleased with the lavender-scented experience.\u00a0<\/p>\n\n\n\n

These and other items such as sheet masks are available for purchase in the boutique. You can also order from a special in-room spa retail menu for delivery morning, noon or night.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

3. Location Is Everything<\/h2>\n\n\n\n

Gorgeous water views are everywhere at this Four Seasons. So whether you’re at the pool, dining or sitting in your bay-view room, expect to find yourself gazing out at the water.\u00a0<\/p>\n\n\n\n

In addition to the scenery, the hotel is within walking distance of a variety of Seattle sites like the Seattle Great Wheel, aquarium and Pike Place Market<\/a>.\u00a0<\/p>\n\n\n\n

If walking or running is your exercise du jour, you’ll enjoy the waterfront sidewalk that eventually leads into the Olympic Sculpture Park. Here you’ll find driftwood beaches, picnic benches, and plenty of spots to enjoy a sunny Seattle day. <\/p>\n\n\n\n

(And I promise that they do have them. My entire April visit was sunny and 70 degrees!)<\/p>\n\n\n\n

4. A Room You’ll Never Want to Leave<\/h2>\n\n\n\n

The deep soaking tub, the cloud-like king-size bed and the cozy chaise lounge covered with fluffy pillows… just a few of the reasons why I found myself reluctant to leave my corner room overlooking Elliott Bay.\u00a0<\/p>\n\n\n\n

In true Four Season style, my room was appointed with everything I could need. There were a variety of the most delicious almond-scented L’Occitane En Provence toiletries in the bath, as well as a nifty hand scrub and deep moisturizer in-room treatment courtesy of the spa.\u00a0<\/p>\n\n\n\n

There’s also a Coffee Concierge service where you can have a complimentary cup of brewed Fonte coffee delivered to your room in the morning. <\/p>\n\n\n\n

Of course, the property also embraces the latest technology. For example, it was so convenient to chat directly with someone at the hotel via the Four Seasons app. <\/p>\n\n\n\n

Anytime I needed a room service tray to be picked up, wanted a restaurant reservation or had other requests before or during my visit, I always received a prompt response via the app.\u00a0<\/p>\n\n\n\n

(Oh, and if you’d like a minifridge placed in your room for goodies you might acquire throughout your visit, the hotel is happy to accommodate.)<\/p>\n\n\n\n

5. The Place to Play Poolside<\/h2>\n\n\n\n

When Seattle is sunny, the pool at Four Seasons Seattle is where you want to be. The infinity pool looks as if it is pouring into the bay.\u00a0<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Plus, there is a complete food and drink service. During my visit, there was an offer where you can reserve a table in one of two cabanas poolside and enjoy a special drink and small bites menu while watching the sunset.\u00a0<\/p>\n\n\n\n

You’ll also find a Jacuzzi and an outdoor fireplace where you can sit and watch the sunset. <\/p>\n\n\n\n

But an FYI\u2014if it’s a gorgeous day, you’ll want to claim your lounge chair early. These precious bayside seats are limited and can get snatched up quickly!<\/p>\n\n\n\n

6. Please Your Palate<\/h2>\n\n\n\n

Whether you prefer to sit in a restaurant or enjoy the solitude of room service, this property does a delightful job with its dining options.\u00a0<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Each morning of my visit, I opted to take advantage of my in-room view and start with a room service breakfast. From the avocado toast with a soft-boiled egg to the green juice to the pancakes, every bite and sip was delicious (and all meals arrived on time). <\/p>\n\n\n\n

Although the restaurant scene in this part of Seattle is full of life, I gladly did dinner at Goldfinch Tavern (the hotel’s restaurant) multiple times.\u00a0<\/p>\n\n\n\n

One evening I enjoyed oysters on the half shell and poached halibut paired with a glass of Sancerre. Another evening, I tried the Goldfinch chowder and Crema di Mozzarella.\u00a0<\/p>\n\n\n\n

And each evening of my stay, I’d always stop by Goldfinch (if I wasn’t already dining there) to request a glass of Iconoclast Cabernet to take to my room. <\/p>\n\n\n\n

As a person who likes to drink her dessert, this was always the perfect Four Seasons end to my Seattle days.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
