Recently, I was itching to get out of Atlanta for my birthday weekend and enjoy time focused on myself. After some research, I decided to visit The Joseph Nashville, which succeeded in making my birthday a memorable one.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

I was welcomed with reusable aluminum water bottles to take home. Full-size bottles of posh ila brand bath and body products were in my room. There was a curated pillow menu. Welcome to a glimpse into my stay at the latest luxury property, The Joseph Nashville. <\/p>\n\n\n\n

I was also eager to visit the city. I had heard that the recently opened Joseph was home to a boutique spa that had an innovative treatment menu. So, my mom\u2014you can call her \u201cKathy\u201d\u2014and I headed north for a much-needed girls weekend. <\/p>\n\n\n\n

Read on to hear about my time at The Joseph Nashville. And, of course, why you should make this Luxury Collection Hotel your home-away-from-home the next time you\u2019re in Music City! <\/p>\n\n\n\n

Arrival at The Joseph Nashville<\/h2>\n\n\n\n

We arrived on a gorgeous fall Friday around lunchtime. As my mom and I pulled up to the property, I noticed touches like the London cab outfitted in Burberry plaid and a massive digital art display. I knew that the interior of The Joseph was likely to be stunning. And I wasn\u2019t disappointed. <\/p>\n\n\n\n

Walking into the lobby, I was surrounded by beauty. Whether it was the pops of color decorating the walls or the eye-catching Italian marble floors\u2014just stunning. <\/p>\n\n\n\n

All of the art throughout the hotel is from the personal collection of the Pizzuti family, who are the owners of the property.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

We were both too hungry to unpack, so we went to the Denim, The Joseph\u2019s more casual eat and drink spot, that overlooks the city skyline and rooftop pool.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

While we enjoyed our comfort food lunch of gnocchi in a pomodoro sauce and lamb skewers with fries over a few glasses of wine, mom and I planned out our weekend itinerary which consists of eat, sleep and spa. <\/p>\n\n\n\n

Our Room<\/h2>\n\n\n\n

While resting up, I wanted a cup of tea and requested an electric tea kettle. One of my favorite moments of my stay was when the chicest looking black kettle was delivered on a tray that included milk, housemade tea bags and Italian honey.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

The beds were like giant clouds outfitted in Frette Italian linens.There\u2019s also an extensive pillow menu to choose from. <\/p>\n\n\n\n

In all my travels, I\u2019d never seen the British brand ila toiletries. I am now eager to use this brand again. <\/p>\n\n\n\n

There was an in-room tablet for convenience, a beautiful view of the river, and pocket-sized hand sanitizer and wipes for both mom and me. It was a little slice of hotel heaven. <\/p>\n\n\n\n

Room Service<\/h2>\n\n\n\n

Our morning began with coffee, cappuccino, a root vegetable frittata, egg biscuit, and bacon packaged in carryout containers and delivered in a paper bag. <\/p>\n\n\n\n

Regardless of presentation, the food and caffeine was just what we needed to fuel us for a day of lounging about. <\/p>\n\n\n\n

Dinner<\/h2>\n\n\n\n

Mom and I booked a spot at Yolan and indulged in the eight-course tasting menu with wine pairings. <\/p>\n\n\n\n

Under the leadership of James Beard Award winner and Michelin-starred chef, Tony Mantuano, each bite of food was as beautiful and luxuriously composed as it is delicious. <\/p>\n\n\n\n

Our food journey included palate pleasers like prawns with Meyer lemon and olive oil; risotto with saffron and lobster; and duck with apple, sweet potato and chestnut.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Courtesy of Cathy Mantuano, the wine was paired perfectly. She picked sips that were one-of-a-kind and would be challenging to find without traveling to Italy. <\/p>\n\n\n\n

Thanks to the couple\u2019s selections and their friendly and attentive staff who guided us through every course, mom and I had a dinner that transported us to one of our favorite European destinations without having to travel far. <\/p>\n\n\n\n

The Rose Spa at The Joseph Nashville<\/h2>\n\n\n\n

Around noon the next day, mom headed out to sight-see while I headed to Rose, the spa at The Joseph. <\/p>\n\n\n\n

Amenities include a steam room, ice fountain and an experience shower where at the touch of a button you\u2019ll feel like you\u2019re in the midst of a warm island storm or a cool rain falling on top of a mountain. The relaxation room is also a warm and welcoming space bathed in natural light where I want to curl up with a cup of tea and my book. <\/p>\n\n\n\n

But, for this visit, I headed straight to the cozy treatment room where my therapist explained the Rose Indulgence experience. For the next 120 minutes, I was pampered by two therapists. <\/p>\n\n\n\n

The first therapist provided a chakra-balancing back treatment and massage. Then, another therapist seamlessly took over, treating me to a facial that included acupressure with hot poultices and rose quartz crystal, as well as a garnet face scrub, and a cooling jade mask. <\/p>\n\n\n\n

Every treatment at the Rose also begins with a signature foot bath that incorporates a foot scrub, followed by a warming bath infused with rose petals and other botanicals. <\/p>\n\n\n\n

Upon leaving, the spa also provides you with a small sachet of this mixture to enjoy at home.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

The Gym at The Joseph Nashville<\/h2>\n\n\n\n

Fitness-minded friends, don\u2019t miss this space. Next to the spa, the gym is also located on the same floor as Denim, and takes advantage of the same views of the city.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Plus, it has all of the cardio and resistance training equipment your heart could desire, including two Peloton bikes and a foot pedal-operated water dispenser. <\/p>\n\n\n\n

Birthday Dinner in Town<\/h2>\n\n\n\n

During my birthday trip last year, I discovered the Bourbon Steak location at the Fairmont Scottsdale Princess in Arizona. That\u2019s when I fell in love with the restaurant\u2019s signature lobster pot pie. <\/p>\n\n\n\n

So, given the Nashville location was a 10-minute walk from our hotel, selecting Bourbon Steak for my Birthday Dinner in town was a no-brainer.  <\/p>\n\n\n\n

Thanks to Jeff, the front office supervisor at The Joseph, mom and I were seated at a table situated next to Bourbon Steak\u2019s floor-to-ceiling window. <\/p>\n\n\n\n

As we watched a spectacular sunset, we dined on fresh oysters, filet mignon, and the epic lobster pot pie.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Departure and Final Thoughts of The Joseph Nashville<\/h2>\n\n\n\n

On our last day, we woke up to a foggy morning and curled up in our room with room service breakfast. Mom reordered the breakfast biscuit while I opted to indulge in pancakes with my bacon.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

My flight home didn\u2019t leave until mid afternoon, so we\u2019d arranged for a late checkout. Mom spent the morning in her The Joseph bathrobe, which had become her uniform while we were in the room. Meanwhile, I got a virtual workout in, courtesy of my go-to platform when traveling: Exhale On Demand.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Then it was time for lunch. It seemed only natural to return to where the trip began: Denim.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

While the rain fell outside, mom and I enjoyed another comfort food-focused lunch, with her reordering the gnocchi she\u2019d fallen in love with on Friday, and me ordering one of Denim\u2019s massive meatballs and a flatbread covered in delicious arugula, prosciutto, ricotta, balsamic, and Parmigiano-Reggiano. <\/p>\n\n\n\n

We toasted our glasses one more time to a wonderful weekend. And we both agreed that the next time we needed a little luxury, The Joseph would be at the top of the to-visit list.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
